Pronunciation Cards is free, open-source software provided to help you manage pronunciation metadata. By using it, you agree to these terms.

What the product does

The extension applies user-written aliases when previewing speech or reading selected text through documented browser speech capabilities. It can also create copyable SSML. Speech voices and SSML support differ by browser, operating system, and reading tool.

No guarantee of screen-reader behavior

Pronunciation Cards does not modify an independent screen reader’s internal dictionary and cannot guarantee a pronunciation in every tool. Verify important names and instructions in the reading surface where they will be used.

Your content

You keep ownership of glossary content you create. You are responsible for reviewing exported files before sharing them and for having permission to distribute any terms or notes they contain.

Availability and warranty

The software is provided “as is,” without warranties. Browser updates may change speech behavior or extension permissions. The maintainers may change or discontinue the hosted download while the source remains available under its license.

The software source is licensed under the MIT License. These terms govern use of the hosted product and do not replace the license text.
