Pronunciation Cards is designed to work without an account or a remote service. The extension does not sell data, show ads, or include analytics.
What stays on your device
Your terms, phonetic aliases, IPA, notes, preferred voice, and speech rate are stored with the browser’s local extension storage. Selected page text is processed in the browser and is not transmitted by Pronunciation Cards.
Permissions
- Storage keeps your glossary and voice settings locally.
- Context menus adds commands for selected text.
- Active tab and scripting let the extension read or speak a selection only after you click its toolbar or context-menu command. It does not request persistent access to every website.
Exports and deletion
When you export JSON, your browser saves a file that you control. Anyone you share it with can read its contents. Delete individual cards in the extension, clear the glossary through an import replacement, or remove the extension and its browser data.
This website
The website has no analytics, cookies, third-party fonts, or third-party scripts. Normal hosting logs may contain an IP address and request metadata for security and operations; the project does not use them to build advertising profiles.
Contact
For questions or deletion help, open an issue in the project’s public source repository. Do not include private glossary data in a public issue.
